What is Singapore's Green Plan 2030?Singapore Green Plan 2030, announced by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat as he unveiled the 2020 Budget, “placing a significant bet on EVs and leaning policy in that direction because it is the most promising (cleaner vehicle) technology” Since the initial announcement, new incentives and goals were set for all new car registrations to be cleaner-energy models from 2030. Target to phase out all petrol and diesel cars by 2040. Visit the SG Green Plan website to learn more: https://www.greenplan.gov.sg/

What are Cleaner-Energy Vehicles? (PHEV & BEV)Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) PHEV is powered by both battery and fuel. PHEV allows driving solely on battery over moderate distances (30km to 80km electric range), before running on fuel. Eliminates Range Anxiety PHEV’s battery can be charged using EV Charging station. Current PHEV models usually allows for slower AC charging of 3kW to 7kW. Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) BEV run solely on electricity, does not have an internal combustion engine (ICE) Range of BEV depends on the size of on-board battery and energy efficiency of the vehicle Charging speed of BEV depends on the type (AC/DC) & rating (kW) of charger, vehicle on-board charger and State of Charge (SOC) AC charging rate (3 to 22kWac) of BEV relies on the vehicle on-board charger, which is usually lower than the allowable DC charging rate (>50kW).

What are the different types of EV Charging station? There are 2 main categories of EV charging stations: Alternating Current (AC) Chargers AC Current is drawn from the grid and fed into the EV through its onboard charger. The onboard charger converts the AC power into DC power, which charges the battery Charging rate depends on the kW rating of the AC equipment and the specification of the vehicle’s onboard charger. Typically, AC charging equipment range from 1.5kW to 43kW. Direct Current (DC) Chargers At the DC Charging equipment, AC power is converted into DC power and fed directly to the battery, without the onboard charger doing the conversion. DC Charger is bigger in size and allows faster charging. (From 22kW to >200kW) Typically termed as ‘Fast’ Chargers

How to determine the best charging setup for your facility?Designing of optimal charging setup should take into consideration the facility available spare load capacity as well as the desired user experience. A comprehensive load profile analysis is recommended to ensure that the charging setup is future proof right from the start. Contact us today to find out more.

What are the standard types of charging fees?per kWh charging rate : Fees will be calculated based on kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumed during the charging session. E.g. An EV charging at a rate of 7kW for 2 hour will consume 14kWh (7kW x 2hr) of electrical energy. The charging session fees are calculated by multiplying the electrical energy (kWh) consumed during the session and the per kWh charging rate. per min charging rate : Fees will be calculated based on duration of the charging session. E.g. An EV charging for 120 mins will incur charging fees calculated by multiplying the duration of charging session and the per min charging rate. Idle parking fees and Grace period duration may also be integrated into the charging fees structure if requried.
-
How do you estimate the EV charging time required?Estimation of charging time requried is dependent on the power rating of the charging station and the kWh rating of the EV battery. For E.g. Tesla Model 3 (Standard Range) uses a 54kWh battery. When charged by a 7.4kW charging station, the estimated time requried to charge from 0 - 80% is about 6 hours. (80% x 54kWh) / 7.4kW = ~6 hours However, it is common for EVs to automatically slow down the charging process from 85-100% to protect the EV's battery and prolong its lifespan.
-
How do I know what is the charging fees / tariff ?All charging fees / tariff are transparent to the EV driver. The applicable charging fees for each charging station are listed in the mobile app.
